It’s been a while, sorry about that, but as ever probably worth the wait with another load of brilliant music, film and art with some great interviews and reviews too.

Biggest difference for those who have been here before is that we’ve ditched the 5 separate PARTS and put less pages (though still 21 of them) in a single file, which means you can view it as we always intended, which is as a magazine.

For those of you not previous visitors this will mean nothing unless you go to the archive and read, watch and hear Editions 001 to 003, which of course we highly recommend.

The other bonus to this new format tweak is we should be able to get an edition out every month now, so that’s nice isn’t it?

Really excited to have interviews with Three Trapped Tigers, Bill Ryder Jones (of The Coral), Chloe Early (amazing Irish artist) and Arthur Jeffes of Penguin Cafe who did a three man semi-acoustic live session for us too which was kind of stunning.

In addition, as ever, there is a lot more great music, a couple of briliant shorts (one funny, the other quite sombre yet stunning) and more.

Anyway, this edition includes:

Page 01: Bill Ryder-Jones: interview
Page 04: The Cassette: short film

Grat electronica tune, but an utterly surreal video to go with it that is both rubbish and utterly compelling at the same time.

Their bandcamp page [bandcamp] has two other songs to hear as well (both great too as it goes) and links to their other online presences.

And this is what Plustapes had to say about them:

Just when you think you’ve heard everything that the contemporary krautrock revival has to offer, something fun like this pops up, coming from France of all places. J&Y is the duo of Laurencina Lam and King Q4. (The latter has created a fair amount of electronic music under his own moniker, but nothing quite like this outing.) While there are only two people making this noise, they make the most out of it, combining bass, drums, and electronics into a raucous kraut stew, with a lot of other wild flavors thrown in for good measure… 9/10

For all our fans waiting on the edge of their seats, sorry for the delay in getting this one out. Being little DIYers we are at the mercy of real lives (in this case me painting my flat and thinking it would only take a week and ESS being involved in the production and release of a Hypnosis training DVD… ah, the things we do in order to fund this little baby).

Anyway, it is finally finished and out. We have also made the decision to release them about every 6 weeks now as doing one a month was a killer given how long it takes to put each magazine together both in terms of getting the content but also the coding. Still, there is so much in each edition that we doubt you’ll get through it all in a couple of visits, so it will be there for you to dip into over 6 weeks when you’re in need of discovering something new and brilliant.

Lovely summery tune, so a tad strange they released it in November… though perhaps it is a counter balance to the grimness we are about to now face weather wise. Am a fan of retro grading in music videos and I do like they way they’ve put this one together… and it works well with the song.

I’m crap at saying stuff sounds like this or that, but it’s a left of centre indie rock album that wouldn’t have sounded out of place in the early 80s indie scene, reminds me in places of Julian Cope at his more avant garde and is, as i’ve already said, frigging amazing.

It’s not nice indie kids. If you need your music to be palatable to Xfm, possibly not for you, though you should expand your horizons. It’s dark and dirty and challenging. But well worth the effort.

He doesn’t have a music video to embed a track from the album in here. he doesn’t even have anything on soundcloud to embed in here, so if you missed the album on the site, make sure you check him out on his website: http://misterlee.co.uk/
