Bomb The Bass feat. Fujiya & Miyagi: Butterfingers

Saturday, August 21st, 2010

Ha, I’d forgotton BTB existed. I loved Clear way back when but I stumbled cross this video whilst hunting out Fujiya & Miyagi videos for the site. What a great video… and there’s a subtle bit of humour at the end. Very engaging and playful and kind of a joy to watch. Having listened to the BTB album this song comes from, it isn’t bad in itself. Different from Clear, but if you like this song you’ll probably like the album.

Peppermint Trolley Company: Trust ||| Spanky and Our Gang: I’d Like to Get to Know You

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

I recently found this tune by Peppermint Trolley Company…this band didn’t last too long after the 60′s ended but i thought they deserved a hearing now due to their beautiful harmonies and catchy tunes.

Spanky and Our Gang had this hit back in the day…their only really worth while hit…the rest of their stuff is a bit…well…twee (to be polite) but this is a great tune.

The Bookhouse Boys: I Can’t Help Myself

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

I love this band. Their debut album was storming. Sounding like the offspring of Nick Cave and Twin Peaks, if a man and a place could begat offspring. We know they’re currently working on the second album and the one track we’ve heard bodes well.

The Strange Boys: Be Brave

How Bloody Amazing are this Band?
Very.

Yu(c)k: Automatic

A beautiful tune to help you sleep. This band seem to be doing bigger things so we thought we;d get them on here at least, before they get too big.
